About James

With over five years running my own fencing business, I bring hands-on experience and a deep connection to rural New Zealand. I was born and raised on my family’s farm in South Canterbury, where I learned the value of hard work from a young age. My father worked as a fencer across the Wairarapa and Tolaga Bay, and that legacy continues in the work I do today.

After time spent shepherding and working in the shearing sheds, I lived and worked abroad in the UK and Australia for a decade. In 2020, I returned home and bought a farm in Maraetōtara — launching my fencing business with just a hand auger. Since then, I’ve grown the operation, now equipped with a tractor and full gear to deliver high-quality, durable rural fencing solutions.

I’m an active participant in FCANZ field days, staying up to date with the latest fencing methods, materials, and tools. For me, fencing isn’t just a job — it’s a way to stay connected to the land and the people who make up the heartbeat of rural New Zealand.
